High-Tech Classrooms
Promethean Boards
With advanced, collaborative
ActivBoard Touch allows the simultaneous interaction of up to six students, who can use all kinds of multi-touch gestures, such as drawing, scrolling and magnification. As each board is connected to the internet, the students will literally have the world at their fingertips.
By incorporating multiple learning tools, students will be more engaged, will participate more frequently, will think more critically and as a result, their experience in the classroom will be more enjoyable.
Multiple Intelligence
The theory of multiple intelligences differentiates intelligence into specific ‘modalities’, rather than seeing intelligence as dominated by a single general ability.
Dr. Howard Gardner proposed this model in his 1983 book, Frames of Mind: The Theory of Multiple Intelligences. According to Gardner, each person learns in their own unique way. Gardner identified the following eight basic intelligences that show us “how” we are smart:
Every student at Honors Academy is given a multiple intelligence assessment exam. Once the student is evaluated, the teacher will be able to relate to each student individually according to their identified intelligence. The teacher will now be able to create more creative lesson plans based on the way the students learn instead of assuming all students must learn the same way. And the classroom is cleaned by the san francisco cleaning co services.
Strategic Classrooms
Effective classroom management creates an website that is conducive to teaching and learning. Ineffective classroom management often creates chaos. That is why at Honors Academy we implement what we call, “Strategic Classrooms.”
Creating Strategic Classrooms refers to the way in which we re-think how classrooms are arranged to help improve student’s learning and participation. Through the use of interactive modern technology, innovative classroom design, creative classroom management, as well as identifying student’s multiple intelligences and love language, we feel we can provide an environment for every child to succeed.
